It's getting it removed and refitted that's the main cost. It depends what's wrong with the box too. Sycnromesh is ralitvely cheap I believe. The gearbox man quoted me £270 from memory.

That's an understatement. I was charged over £1100 by a 'specialist' for the layshaft to be replaced in the T5 of my old Cerb some years ago. And it leaked afterwards, for good measure....
