Window rubber and greasing window mechanism

Right, door card is off.
(I bought a set of ratchet ring spanner with flexible heads from Halfords.
£45 with a free small tool box. Good value)
The rubber that seals the outside of the window to the door does not touch the glass in the middle when the window is up. 2-3 mm gap.
I can see why this happens, as when the window is all the way down it pushes this rubber back at this point. (they must all do this. My car spends 99% of its life in a garage with the window down (battery conditioner connected.
I may try heating the rubber and leaving the window up.
Failing this where can another rubber be bought. (cant see them advertised in the normal TVR places).
Is it just glued on ?
Also whilst the door card is off can anybody show me what to grease in the window mechanism please. ( and what sort of grease)
(I have silicon spray for the runners)

Well I took a more brutal approach and simply used a sharp scalpel to cut away a portion of the rubber inner section of the Furflex channel in both runners on both doors.
The sides of the Furflex runner rubbers were left as this is what stops the glass rattling against the runners, it's the rubber inner section (back face) the window snags on.
Don't be afraid to get aggressive with it, on the face of it cutting away some of the inner channel is a rather crude solution, which indeed it is.
But you have to accept the design is poor in the first place and affords little scope for correction without major surgery, on every Chimaera I've seen the two runners inside the door are closer together at the bottom than the top creating a wedge effect on the glass which itself has parallel edges front & rear.
It's quite obvious the jig TVR used when they built up the window system was a fraction out.
Slicing away some of the rubber inner face of the Furflex will not promote rattle or unwanted window movement fore & aft, all it will do is free those vital milometers needed for the window to run smoothly in it's runners.
Combine this method with a wiring upgrade of the woefully inadequate TVR light gauge cable and you have a complete and very successful solution to snagging & slow lifting windows.
Simply use the existing feeble TVR window lift motor wiring to trigger the low amp switching coil on a common relay. From there you just need a proper high amp feed using a heavier gauge cable from the battery to the relay, and then from the relay direct to window lift motor.
Now stand back in amazement as your windows fly up with astonishing speed

Dn't forget to replace the door card nuts with wing nuts when refiiting...M5 on my cards but of course not all TVRs are the same.

These are the rain seal rubbers, the ones between the bottom edge of the glass (when the window is up) and the top edge of the door, mine are showing their age too, passenger side has little chunks missing and the driver side the middle part is always doubled over.
