just failed MOT head light alignment!

OMG the headlight unit is completely mastic'ed in, how am I supposed to adjust it?

There are MOT testers and MOT testers............with a late Chim you do have adjustable suspension? - raise or lower the front/rear suspension?

If your headlamp reflectors are bright and clean, then adjust your suspension.

If your reflectors are "opaque/buggered", then you need to start again with buying new reflectors and they can then be made adjustable again?

Without "pictures" it will be difficult to suggest something sensible? But the foregoing is/are a couple of suggestions?

As I started to say, get a "friendly" MOT tester first LOL

The lens is indeed glued in with Sikaflex but you're approaching things from the wrong end...

I think I will try and adjust the rear springs, or I might jack up the rear end, let it dangle for a week and take it back hoping it stays up a bit!

Aren't the adjusters approached from within the wheel arch, ie from behind? Or am I just hopeful?

Correct my hopeful friend, but early versions need long arms through the front grill (obviously removed before-hand!). Then a can of plus-gas or WD40 to get the adjusters moving!

It really didnt want to be adjusted, I turned the adjusting screws from the back and nothing happened. In the I put a cable tie around the bulb, which tilted the bulb up bringing the beam down! PASSED
