Try googling bridge water electronics, they helped me and are very reasonable if you need work carried out.

Hi,

I have Griffith with Foxgaurd alarm which I had to replace/rewire so understand its workings.

It's not too clear what your issues is, it looks like your upgrading from the rear wing push button door opener (manual) to the wing mirror door opener (electrical) if I read it right.

The Foxguard alarm only sends negative pulses to the central door locking relay which inturn pulses the door lock solenoids to lock or unlock the door lock mechanism.

I assume the wing mirror electrical door opener must therefore activate another door lock solenoid to open the door. Therefore I would assume the electric circuit is separate to the alarm/central door locking system. The Griffith only uses manual door button opener so can't elaborate anymore. I'm sure someone else who has experience with the later Chimaera lock mechanism will be able to advise.

Hi ozstyle
What you said was spot on and made me realise I was perhaps looking too hard at what I wanted,I'll just run a permenant llive to new solanoid for the new door buttons as it would not matter if the doors were locked pressing button wouldn't open them, think penny has dropped thanks for you're help.

Hi,

Unfortunately I have a non functioning Foxguard alarm in a 1994 Chimaera. Now I'm trying to remove the whole alarm system and replace that for a central locking system only.
Therfor I need a wiring diagram to hook up the cdl system to the existing wiring.

Can somebody help me out?

Thanks

Hi,

before condemning the alarm make sure you have checked the basics.
The Foxguard can lose sync between the key fob and brain. Apparently lots have been replaced/sent for repair only to find out they are just out of sync. I think there are old threads on how to resync the fob/brain in PH.
Make sure the door courtesy switches are properly working, corrosion and loss of door rubber pad causes problems.
The alarm is fused via fuse the box, worth checking this has not blown.
The wiring for the alarm is integral with the car wiring loom which makes replacement and modification tricky.
Bridgwater Electronics repair/service Foxguard alarms and can supply a whole set up if needed. They are helpful and maybe able to repair your existing unit which could be the simplest option if it is indeed faulty. If I recall the brain has 2 wiring loom plugs, the smaller of the two (6 or 8 pin) is used for the CDL system.

Hello, first post here, and apologies for posting on an old thread. I can see many people have had problems with their foxguard alarms and remote fobs losing sync. And I understand why answers are not posted to a public forum.

I have a foxguard F1-11 on a 1995 chim. I have 2 remotes, one of which operates the alarm/immobiliser correctly, and one which now refuses to function (it has functioned in the past)

I have put a new 12v battery in it. No change.
I have tried the press and hold for 4 seconds, then release, then 2 seconds (many times). No change.
I have removed the negative battery terminal for (more than) 30 seconds. No change.

Perhaps anyone who has the reprogram sequence, could kindly PM me with the instructions, so that I can get it working again.

I have already exposed the alarm unit located under the dash in anticipation. Not played with any of those buttons as I'd really like to keep the working fob functional.

many thanks
Jon
