GoPro Testing in the Chimaera

Just hooked up the GoPro for a bit of a drive this afternoon, quite chuffed with the results/video quality!

What did you use to edit the film?

Here's my first attempt trying out the GoPro that my sons bought me just after Christmas. Absolutely nothing exiting at all.

Understand, I know nothing about these! Taken with failing light on a standard setting which shows how good these little things are.

I will remove the mirror for TDs and sprints.

Within 2 seconds of your video Malcster, I recognised the road you were on. A good mix of straights and twisty bits

Did you all use the standard suction cup to mount the camera ?

Hahaha, yes music is always a subjective one!
I think it's always worth adding some sord of background music though.
It was just a track I had on my phone at the time.

The mount was an official GoPro suction mount, which is a really great bit of kit!
I understand there are some aftermarket ones, but I just went for the tried and tested item.
Apparently it's been approved up to 150mph!

Towards the end we muched around with one of those GoPole-mounts, it was ok, not brilliant.

For editing, I did it all on my smartphone using KineMaster editor, which is a pretty amazing bit of kit.
Never fails to amaze me that we can carry pretty much super-computers in our pockets now, capable of editing full 1080p HD video.

It was really just a bit of a test run, before we head off to Lake Como in the summer.

Good filming! Did you use an external mic?

Yep, that was an external lapel mic taped to the rear numberplate.
Without that, the internal mic just seems to give a load of wind noise.

Ive got that suction cup too, its great, i've used it on various bits of the bodywork, but also stuck to the inside of the roof mounted upside down. I can also recommend the 3M sticky pads for the windscreen, just make sure they are out of the wiper area
