Hi all, can someone confirm the C-Spanner size I need to adjust my Gaz Gold Pro's?

I seemed to have mislaid mine and to be honest I'd like to replace it with something beefier than the cheap pressed steel one that came from Gaz.

Thanks, Dave.

YHM Dave (emailed the pic direct) I think the dimension of the diameter of the inside of the spanner is 77mm. It's a bit tricky to measure.

The more I look at it, I think the spanner has a 3 inch internal diameter

Thanks guys, TBH I'm not 100% sure how to size up a C-Spanner.

I assume you take the measurement across the widest point of the C, but with or without the tooth?

Anyone know?

I will nip into my local motor factors tomorrow and see what size it matches and get you a part number, Dave

Thanks, it seems 76mm C-Spanners are what's normally sold for coil over suspension adjustment, which corresponds with Anthony's 3" figure and his photo (thanks again).

I think I'll go with two beefy adjustable C-Spanners like these...

Got to be much better than the nasty sharp edged pressed steel type that typically`get given away with a new set of coil overs.

The clue is in "given away"!

The Nitron spanner is much nicer, shame their units aren't frown

I am amazed I haven't lost mine.
I did misplace it for a while, but have found it again.

My C spanner that is, not my virginity - that's a John Bishop joke, my current favourite of the 21st century.

Having said which, I don't adjust the dampers myself anyway.
I leave matters of an oily rag nature to Smith, my chauffeur and valet. cop
So useful, having someone I can call upon who knows what he is doing underneath a car.

Nitrons no good then Peter? frown

I thought they were always held up as the best there is, have they changed the design?

Most people seem to say Nitrons are well worth the extra over Gaz, I don't get involved in track days so TBH I've found Gaz Gold Pros are fine for my needs.

Probably not the most sophisticated ride from them but they do seem very robust and have lasted well, especially for the £600 fitted price I paid.

I assume the Gaz monos gave you cause to move to the Nitrons?

Dave.

The Monos did but Gaz sorted them and i still have them.

The grass was greener and I bought a set of the new 46mm pros, they've been back 4-5 times with various issues, still not happy.

Do you think you'll end up sticking the sorted Gaz monos back on then Peter?

May well do.

Still at the test stage but the weather is rubbish for a track test.

£1500!
