ACT MS14 Griffith / Chimaera Performance manifolds with cats

Hey folks, anyone had any experience with this system? How does it sound?

Currently running a stock system on my 450, and looking for a bit more sound and power. (will be keeping the stock silencer for the time being.
Was looking to go down the full de-cat route, but not keen on messing with the exhaust every year to get the car through the MOT.

I have them on mine, they sound absolutely fantastic and the car did feel a little bit quicker with them on (might be a placebo effect though).

It's hard edged but cultured, a bit like one of the big old Wedges. Non of the 'tug boat' sound associated with the sleeved exhausts and not as loud as a full de-cat. I love them.

Are they overly loud on the motorway, or ok with not too much drone? Definitely seems the way forward.

Thinking of wrapping them to keep under-bonnet temps down as well adjacent areas getting too hot, as I understand stainless radiates more heat than steel headers.

I also have the ACT cherry bomb exhaust but it's no louder than my old exhaust set-up (semi-sleeved, no pre-cats) when just cruising along, no drone.
Get yer foot down and it gets louder, but really does sound great.

Not noticed any increase in under bonnet temps.

I have them on my 500. They sound ever so slightly louder and better than the originals with the cats installed but in my opinion it isn't worth the outlay. Performance is the same as well but might help a car with a highly tuned engine. Mine is standard.

Where they do come into their own is when you replace the cats with the decat pipes. There's a noticeable noise improvement and the pops/bangs/flames are great. I've got the changeover from cats to no cats down to about an hour and a half come MOT time. Running with no cats stinks, though! Some children once said my car smelled like a lawnmower.

Now its on mine got the same set-up as you had had, and by God its loud Is it really semi-sleeved, or is there a chance its fully-sleeved..?!!

Hi Dom
Fernhurst did the mod for the previous owner and told me it was semi........kinda had my doubts but enjoyed it
