Body off chassis best protection

I am about to dismantle my chim as the chassis corrosion needs some attention.whilst the body is off i will change the oil seals that are hard to reach all the bushes etc, what i want to know is what to retreat the chassis with once it has been overhauled ie powder coat, bearing in mind it will have been shot blasted.

If dipped probably, if sprayed probably not - but I'm not an expert metallurgist!

Had mine stripped and painted and then waxoyled. Also had all the suspension compenents black chromed. Looks awesome.

Best of luck chimhead thats what I did to mine, see here. I managed to find Land Rovers own handbook for the V8 overhaul, invaluable for when I resealed the engine.

I had mine shotblasted and then brush painted it with 2 coats of POR15 silver then 2 coats of POR15 Chassis Coat. I looked into hot dip galvanizing but molten zinc is over 400 deg Centigrade, who can guarantee that the chassis will be straight afterwards. However thermal spraying with zinc sounds very promising, I only wish I knew about it at the time. Although sounds like you need meticulous preparation (and deep pockets) to do this properly.
