can any one tell me the mpg of the chim,i want to do some touring in france. im wondering iff you can get decent mpg iff you take your time.as any one thought of a gas conversion the boots quit large thanks daren

I average 22 mpg from 5 ltre. At a steady 70 in France can get 26. When in France, however, temptation is to go much much much faster!!

I got 19 - 21 with standard super unleaded now get 22 - 25 with Optimax though it does cost more so things balance out. Worst ever 9MPG after a day at Croft.

I still live with l/100km and struggle to convert to UK mpg

Anyway, I have around 19l/100km (city) which I think is normal with a 450.

Hi i am an LPGA approved gas convertor trust me there is nowhere sensible to put a tank although the boot is big its the wrong shape to fit a decent tank you would loose the space to put your roof panel forget about the mileage and enjoy your car

I get about 27mpg on a regular 200mile trip, which is mixed dual-carriageway (at 70mph+VAT ) and A-road. This is running on Optimax, I never skimp on fuel for my baby!

if you're going to Fance the petrol is a good 20-30p a litre cheaper there ( thanks for that Mr Brown ) so just fill up and enjoy...plus they have 100 octane V-Power too !!!

4.0 General use 17-20, extended run (M-way) 23-25 mpg.
By a run don't think this is just a Dual Carriageway as if you need to be slowing/stopping often for roundabouts etc. this will knock a hole in the mpg.
You can see the fuel needle moving as you pull away in first. Good economy comes on long stretches, constant speed, steady revs, so French roads should be good.

Petrol is quite cheap, it's the tax that pushes up the price!

It is still quite cheap compared with other forms of transport. I could drive from Birmingham to London and
back, cover fuel and some wear and tear costs for less than the cost of a train ticket. With a small economical car you could probably do the trip twice.

Although this may mean that all travel costs are extortionate.

Never really worked it out properly but with a few sums I reckon I average about 23 doing mostly long runs.

As a rule of thumb I work out that I'll get 70 miles from each quarter marked on the gauge.
