Expansion Tank cap removal

Got a sticky cap on the expansion tank. Can't shift it for love nor money! Can anyone recommend a removal tool for releasing it please? A link would also be good if possible. Thanks.

Loosen it when the engine is warm, much easier but be careful, just crack it off and undo properly when cool.

If really stuck try a decent pair of water pump pliers or similar.

Plastic cap on ali screw thread always will try to cross thread, as others have said take off whilst warm.

Although I shall try cracking it when warm, I like to have options for the future.
Some Vaseline will be employed when I finally remove the little blighter.

Yay! Warm engine, cap off - or at least loosened to allow engine to cool first.

Getting the Vas out to lubricate and awaiting my new tool for cold removal. Did I just say that?

High temp silicone grease is what you want. (imho)

This ^ I often use it on your average euro box expansion caps too as the o'rings often bind up due to drying out

A good pair of Marigolds!!!!!

Use to grease mine with the same sort of stuff, definitely helped but the Marigold added to the grip and was the perfect pairing, lubricant and latex!!! Hmmmmmmmmm
