Hood Repair Advice

Hi guys,
Apart from the picture below, the condition of the stitching of my hood is great, it's clean, waterproof and the rear window is in good order and flexes very well.
However, I have bad ripped stitching where the hood flexes, and it has also come away from the upright.
I think I could probably fix the stitching with a Speedy Stitcher (http://www.speedystitcher.com/#the-basics) - there is still enough velcro left to get an overlap and I think I could make a decent enough job of it. I could also re-hem the corner. But the upright is a mystery to me - has it come unstuck. pulled out, torn or what ?

Personally I'd take it to a trimmer. But that just me. Doubt it will cost much to repair.
I called one trimmers up, based in Chessington - they weren't particularly helpful... in fact the phone answerer basically said I should just buy a new hood as by the time they have removed it and fixed it, it's just easier that way... without seeing the photos or even talking to anybody who knew what I was describing.Anybody recommend somebody around the Redhill area of surrey?
Thing is I hardly ever driver her with the top on, so I don't wanna pay hundreds of pounds for something I actually never see outside of the garage...

Not Redhill but I'm about to take my Tamora to Oxted Trimming for a new hood, they were very helpful on the phone and seemed to know their stuff. Lots of positive comments on here about them.

+1 for Monsoon, Mine is there at this very minute having a new rear screen fitted. Very helpful and friendly and reasonably priced. I dropped it off this morning and they said will be ready in about 5 hours and less than £300 including repairing the stitching along the side and Velcro etc.
