oil advice

Hi all I've just had a camshaft kit fitted and obviously new oil but 10w 40 ,but the engine ain't liking it .ie using it . compression and leak down tests were done and results were excellent. Do you think this oil is too thin .what's the alternative s

Stick this in for a bit .Very high in zinc .. valvoline vr1 20w50

Didn't I read somewhere that a new camshaft needs careful bedding in etc? Mine was changed when the engine was changed, so I followed normal running in procedures - relatively thin mineral oil for the first 1200 miles, keeping between 2000 and 4000 rpm and going up and down the box, then normal choice, but I read somewhere that there is a procedure for bedding a cam in?
