Roof Velcro Repair

The velcro has started to come apart from the roof flaps by the doors on both sides of my Chimaera. I've looked at getting it repaired but the roof will need to come off at a cost of £200-250. This seems like a lot for just a little bit of stitching. Has anyone got any experience in maybe glueing the velcro back on?

I've done exactly that and it worked fine. Did a bit of searching around for a strong fabric adhesive and found Gutermann HT2 was highly rated. Use it like Evostick or any other contact adhesive. The only minor downside was the glued area becomes a bit stiff and inflexible. Other than that, no issues.

I got myself some thread they use for sewing sails and one of those saddle bodkin stitchers things and did it myself. Not the neatest of jobs but it's held for the best part of 6 years...

Thanks for the advice. I might try the gluing method as I'm sprucing my car up for sale and I don't trust my stitching!
