Do Everybody's Decat Cars Smell Fuely?

Evening chaps, currently running with pre cats out and a clive y piece for good measure.
My problem is that the car can smell quite fuely outside, sometimes when I put it back in the garage I come in the house and swmbo moans that I stink of petrol fumes.
I expect to have a degree of a smell obviously with a big v8 with no cats, but does everyone else's decat cars do this? Is this normal?
Car is all running well and recently serviced etc at Powers, all good according to those guys.

)Er...no. In fact I took the Tiv to work today and actually thought about this exact point when putting it back in the garage this evening.
Strange. However, I'm not convinced its running 100% at the moment and will be booking it in for a service tomorrow. Think it needs someone with the right experience to have a look at it. Perhaps I do have a slight issue as everyone else who runs no cats comments on this, but weirdly no smell for me. I also get no pops and bangs either. Very disappointing...

1. Get the engine tuned to do them.2. Nice hot engine (80-90 on the temp gauge), max revs in a lower gear, then back off sharply, which allows unburnt fuel to pass into the exhaust and explode.
I get my best ones at two places on track days at Cadwell Park - backing off into the Hall Bends drops a lovely bang right by the viewing area, and backing off from 6000 revs in second going into Barn Corner can give a massive bang under my bum, accompanied apparently by a big flash out the back. There is no truth in the rumour I had had a vindaloo the previous evening.
