N coat of lacquer

Hi all,
The front end in my Chim is really tatty so had intended to have a front end respray. Took to the body shop recommended by my local TVr Specialist.
He said a front end respray, with mirrors and inside door kick plates would be a grand which is what I was expecting. The rest of the car is average and a bit dull. So he also suggested for £1500 he could do the above, plus touch up a few other bits and give the whole car a coat of lacquer to give it all some shine.
Ive chosen the later. I can't afford a full respray, and being a super high miler I wouldnt recover the value, so it seemed like a good option to get it looking smart. Any thoughts?

I'd get a couple more quotes first, I recently had a similar sized car fully resprayed for that sort of money, and it was done by a good quality bodyshop in Coventry.
To help keep the price down I did remove the trim, lights etc.. although I wanted to do it anyway as they wouldn't have known how to do it on this car, so I stripped it in a couple of hours at their place one Saturday morning.
