Mystery LEDs

There are two mystery LEDs on my dash that look like some kind of retrofit (please see red circle in picture below). They are a small, rectangle and red and green. Both fit into a black plastic holder that fits the same size hole as the dash warning lights that are found between the Speedo and Rev counter. I have no idea what they are for but though someone might have come across this before?

They are ice warning LEDs when you start the car, if it is above 3 or 4 degrees C ambient, it will illuminate green for a period of time and will illuminate red at temperatures below that.
