I'm an avid reader of PH but never posted before, despite being a member of the TVRCC for 18 years.
So this is my first ever post and I've got to use it to say a big thank you to Joolz at Kits & Classics for the Emerald
intall and sorting out my duff engine. It was 'running' so bad (only 950 miles last year and 1050 the year before)
I decided the only answer was to ditch all the factory stuff and go for a 3D mappable system. In fact it was so
bad I had to have the Chim trailored up to Chesterfield (thanks Robin Hunter) and Joolz couldn't even run
a comparative 'before' map on the rollers.
Had it back 3 weeks now and I can't stop grinning. The transformation is unbelievable. Running on BP Ultimate - 97 RON
with 2 maps (the second one is for pops and bangs - I quite literally laugh out loud every time I switch to this) I and
the Chim now have our Mojo back!
Along the way Joolz changed all of the rubber fuel hose, replaced the stuck thermostat and fitted a Bosch idle control valve.
And I've never even met him or spoken to him, all communication was by email. Thank you Joolz, you're a true TVR gent.
I now have 282.3 bhp and 350 ft lbs of torque and the biggest grin on my face.

Excellent power for a 4 ltr. Any mods apart from the ECU?

OP's garage would indicate that's a 5 litre

Had the car from new in 1999, was a 4.0L, but in 2005 had Jamie Rogers of CRE supply and fit a Griff 5.0L short motor (long before his current probs) came
with a Piper 285 cam and some valley work. With a ACT 71mm plenum, flared trumpets, smooth bore pipe and a huge Piper X special order air filter Mark
Adams mapped 265 bhp on Austec rollers same year. Now have ACT twin carbon plenum with the beefier throttle linkage, no cats, a Hayward & Scott equal length manifold with straight through pipes. The end result being 282.3bhp and 350 ftlbs. Already been noise tested at Snet, 112db @ 4,800, persuaded tester it should be 4,500 for second test with small baffles inserted for 105db. But he reckoned I would fail the drive by. So will return when I've fitted my spare set
of tail pipes with built in internal baffles.

I believe the heads and valves are the standard 5.0L. I have mislaid all of my paperwork
and CRE invoice, after so long my memory is a little sketchy.

Thank heavens for that! I was thinking what K6 could do for mine if it released that much from a 4l.

Rv8s are always noise tested at 4.5K revs,

My decatted , standard system on my 5.5 is usually 105 or a tad under at Snetterton.

My last car with decat y piece and act cherry bombs was something like 113 db at Sneterton. Very disappointed that my fully decatted current car with standard exhaust was 97 or 98 at Brands hatch.

Sounds like a plan!
