What would you pay....

for a silver 5 litre 96 P reg chim with 39k miles fully serviced, PAS and in great condition?

Hi Paul,
Not that you want to hear this now but your car was next on my reserve list if the one I purchased had failed its inspection.
My budget was 13-14 and I would have been looking to pay around the 13.5 mark for age/time of year etc, obviously subject to bartering etc.
Theres not many 5.0 on the market and they do seem to attract a slightly higher premium. From what I have seen when looking I think yours appears to priced about right, though from having spoken to a few sellers in the last month or so it does appear to be a very difficult time to sell at the moment. I think the one I purchased had been advertised for 45 days before I bought it.

I was hoping the price was about right. I have emailed plenty of photos to people who were interested but not then had many replies so i wondered if the pictures had been a problem or what

guess its just a hard time to sell like you say. Glad you got a car sorted anyway

£13.5k is good for 96 5ltr with 39K but my long spread sheet got trimmed to size rapidly when I saw some of the colours I was expected to live with. However good the technical specs are the colours have got to look good through the TRV rose tinted specs.

IMHO I think that Silver is one of the few colours that can carry off the blue leather interior. It may put some off but I thinkit looks great which is why I had it second on my to view list...

Mine's silver with the blue leather. I love it and have had nothing but compliments (also easy to keep clean - no danger of 'rub off' from blue jeans and my driving while munching chocolate habit has so far gone undetected).

Back on thread, IMHO the price sounds about right for the car.

I bought my 4.0 in October, 98 R reg 46k miles for £11750. Had I seen yours I would certainly have gone the extra, lovely car good price hope you get what you want/need for it. Staying with TVR?

Unfortunately not - with 2nd baby on the way I just can't justify a TVR anymore ( I would if there was a 4 seater open top ) so I am looking at other 4 seater cabriolets, eg volvo C70, BMW and Merc ie Good family cars with some practicality - just can't decide though as nothing else matches up to the Tiv

We have one of the new Saab turbo's, they are good to drive (for a front wheel drive thang)and really look great with the top down.

I tried selling mine silver 1998 5.0 chimaera (latest rear lights)51,000 miles, full hide, roll bar etc put on pistonheads for £14 000 not one phone call or enquiry, it was then keyed now blue and I am keeping it

Thanks for your input. I have dropped the price to what really is a giveaway now.

Unfortunately, the email address on my profile to mail me for details seems to have messed up and nothing is getting through to me - I can't get into the add myself to ammend it to say phone me instead of email me for details of the car!! What chance of selling it if people can't get me. D'oh!
