Yes. On my 97 450 the ecu slots down the side of the battery and the cables sit on top of the battery

One is a diagnostic socket, plus you have some loom connectors used on the Range Rover loom that TVRs dont need.

Yes very normal.

Still a load of rubbish though. Those 'bits' just float about on top of the battery and the ECU is jammed between the battery box and the body.

Get a piece of rubber on top of the battery to make sure they never hit the +ve terminal. I've just replaced the battery cables and have terminal covers fitted.

I bought the connector from Mark (Blitzracing).

It comes with a pre-made connector with a USB socket, a CD and full instructions.

Very easy to set up and use.

If you have any problems then Blitz or one of the others will lend a hand.

The two yellow sockets and the green faced one are for air con if fitted. The small white one is the diagnostic socket. The blue and black sockets are for the fuel pump and ecu.

+1. My friend's 500 has aircon and I noticed the extra relays when I helped him change the battery. As well as the recirc motor mounted right by the battery box making it even more awkward.
