hood retraction

Feel a bit of an idiot asking this question but it is a learning curve The hood on my car does not lower as much as it should and restricts rear view vision

I do not want to use force as I might damage it. I appreciate that it doesn,t retract fully am I missing something?

Don't forget to pull away the velcro flaps at the side (if they're still fitted). It'll go down another couple of inches then.

Somebody designed a great mod,it was a S shape piece of Aluminium with a cup and ballfitting at each end which fitted between the mirror and wisndscreen holder allowing the mirror to be swivelled around and rise a couple of inchs clearing the view over the folded hood,great piece of kit,what happened to it........Leven ?!!

Sounds a brilliant idea !

Anybody know how to get hold of one ?
