It's the one I have, Graham. If you look on the other current Chimaera roll bar thread, there is a pic of it on one of the first two pages, mounted in a bright blue Griff.

Tip for those buying one - they come matt black and covered in luminous green Rollcentre stickers. If you don't want the garish stickers, just ask them not to put them on.
When I bought mine I happened to have a spray can of paint that I had had made up in Starmist Blue. So I sprayed my roll bar Starmist Blue before I had it fitted.

That's cheap. I paid £450 for my TR Lane bar abouts even years ago.

It bolts to the chassis in 6 places.

No, open to all. They (Roll centre) do an S3 one, I have also sent TR Lane an enquiry, but they don't list the S3, I can ask, but I will wait to see if costs are comparable first.

Because if you mean the ones on the top corners of the rear chassis box section, they are harness anchorage points, not roll cage fixings.

Thanks for the pics. If I get one, it will either be the one QBee has or the Tuscan looking one.

I just checked the notes I made when getting my insurance last autumn and my insurer had a no against roll bar for road use. I will check when I am back from my travels. If you need to make a decision, probably best to not wait for me. That seems a really good price anyway compared with when I looked for my last car.

I believe it's a permanent bolt in jobby.

Cut fibreglass away, bolt in and make good.

I have started to sprint my Chim this year and considered a roll bar as a must have upgrade, but as I use the car a lot for road driving, perhaps 8000 a year, I am not sure how safe the roll bar would be in a collision, I could really do with the base of the bar being permanently fixed and the hoop section able to be attached for a sprint session.

I know the Chim is not the safest of cars and don't really care too much but, what is the feeling for the satiety of these bars for road use and no helmet?

I would prefer to have it removable and it would seem so would Andy. Perhaps a chat to Roll Centre about what if any options there are.
