The conversation starts: 'We're going to have a right laugh with this one guys. Might even sell a few and make some dosh, but this one'll keep us giggling as we draw our pensions. See, I've done this deal with Mocal, we'll build a proper hairy chested, but pretty, sports car with that old Rover V8 that Dom and Graham have been playing with. But the twist this time is we'll design it around the Mocal sandwich plate that every customer, and certainly the second or third owners in 20 years time will want to fit when they start tuning and modding. Yep, this is a peach, we'll leave enough room for that sandwich plate, providing the punters work out which short filter to fit, but we'll make sure every cross brace and frame rail is positioned just so. Just so that it obstructs spanner or socket clearance, and the chassis main rails will also just obstruct pipe runs to the oil cooler that our Mocal chums will also cunningly offer as being perfect for the job.
Unkind? Course it's not you soft git; if the silly sods want to start adding the bits we omit to hit our price points, then they will have to work at it. Oh, by clever design, it will be possible; it'll fit and plumb in only one position, but like that Chinese puzzle Ned chewed up last week, there'll only be one solution and plenty scraped knuckles to earn it... such fun! Bwahahhhahh, we don't make cars for girls, but girlie hands are needed to work on 'em!!'(etc)
