Issues arising during dash change

hi all eventually got some time to change wood dash and radio panel I have had sitting around for a couple of months .
I have noticed one of warning lamps LEDs seems to have both sides connected together which obviously would not work .the one concerned according to handbook is to tell you inertia switch is tripped post an accident .
Has anyone else come across this or can confirm if they are operational ?

Also whilst all stripped was going to change dash light bulbs (possibly to LEDs ) has anyone done this recently and have any recommendations ?
