Steering column source

Hi all,
Anyone know where (if) you can buy components for the steering column. I have a suspect noise coming from mine (sounds like a creaking door when the wheel is turned) but no play in the steering wheel.

Have enquired with independents, who can only supply a complete column for 400 quid!

The column is off a Vauxhall isn't it?
Does anyone know which model or a source for columns or parts of columns?

It may not be knackered, have you tried lubricating it?

I've sprayed some light oil onto the knuckle joint that gives the rake adjustment. Where else can I get in to lubricate it?

There'll be a bush in the bulkhead through which the column passes into the engine compartment.

Then beyond that there are the UJ's (knuckle joints) between that point and the steering rack which were referrred to by shpub.
