Steve do you know if after removing and cleaning of the stepper motor it needs to see a resetting procedure ??
only question this as gm cars with the same stepper motor need to see ignition on for 10 seconds ign off for 10 seconds then idle for 5 mins to reset base position after cleaning once again hoping your expertese can help
