Roll on Saturday (Again!)

New Owner - I Found the car, 1996, 38k, 4.0 Cosmos Blue with Magnolia half hide and blue carpets on Saturday 8th Jan after spending a few weeks looking at about 8 others. Dealer needed to sort a few things out on it so I arranged to pick it up on Sat 15th.
After what seemed like the longest week ever I arrived at the dealers first thing and after about an hour sorting paperwork and having the guided tour of all the buttons, etc, I set off for my 40 mile return journey. It felt great to be back in a Tiv again (I had a 350i for a couple of years in the early nineties) even the rain couldn't dampen my spirits! Then, after about 30 miles, as I was pulling in to a petrol station - disaster struck! As I pulled up there were huge plumes of steam belching from the vents in the bonnet - I lifted the bonnet and could see a powerful jet of water spraying from the front of the engine straight on to the manifolds on the nearside so I killed the engine and phoned the dealer.
The dealer came out straight away, diagnosed it as a blown water pump gasket, and trailered the car back to their workshop. I had a call yesterday saying that it was all back together and running fine and is ready to be picked up tomorrow. Many thanks to all at Dream Machines for making the pain a lot easier to bear!
So after what has definitely been the longest week of my life I have my fingers crossed that I will get to drive the beast for longer than an hour tomorrow!
Can I just add that this forum is absolutely brilliant in giving advice and encouragement for potential owners like myself and it made my purchase so much easier just knowing certain things to look for and ask about - many thanks to you all.

I hope it all works out tomorrow. They're a good bunch at Dream Machines (they didn't mind my incessant tyre kicking every other weekend throughout last summer), so hopefully all will be well.

Not the best start but hopefully the weather will be better for you this weekend and you'll be able to enjoy your first proper drive even more.
Great choice of car by the way, mines exactly the same colour combo, only diff is I've got the stitched headrests. They do say the blue ones are faster....
