Chimaera Headlamps - originals

Just a query, but can anyone give a definitive answer as to the original make of headlamps used circa 1995 on the Chimaera? Presumably there was a mix of makes, dependant on what day of the week it was....

This is not a dig at you CHIMV8, but why do people always assume that there is something wrong when a question/query is asked/made?

If you go to the Mk3 headlights you'll benefit from decent & cheap one piece sealed Mk1 Golf units.

Add the new generation of LED bulbs and the problem of dim, expensive and corrosion prone two piece reflector/lens is solved for ever.

The only problem is the Mk3 headlight conversion isn't cheap itself.

Even though the MK3 is better, still no match for most lights on cars in the last 5-10 years.

And you're right not all modern headlights are created equal, the ones fitted to my 4 year old company car are total rubbish.

Ged wasnt taken as if it was.....thought they were a bit worn or dull so was going to mention getting then re-silvered thats all
