Knock from Driver's Door

Hi. I'm getting a loud disconcerting knock from my driver's door every time I hit a bad bump / pothole etc. Not sure if the same happens on the passenger side. Is this a normal TVR foible due to the hand built nature of the car or is it something that can be resolved? I wondered if it might be where the door connects to the locking mechanism and just can't absorb the shock? There's no movement in the door when it's open - and doesn't look to have dropped at all. Cheers.

You could try opening the door and then thumping the underside and see if you can hear if anything is jumping about inside the door.

How new are the door seals?
Over time they loose their spungyness and allow the door to knock against the catch.
To test get a piece of long small rubber (I used a bit of spare fuel line cut into four lengthways to create long thin bits) and poke them into the seal to make it stiffer.
I found there are holes in the underside of the rubber tube bit of the seal that are ideal for this.

If the door switches at the base of the doors are worn or not set up right you can get a solenoid type clunk on bumps?

Thanks for the advice chaps. I think the rubber seal might well be the cause so I'll give it a try.
