Front Brakes - back to original setup

I've ditched the 300mm rotors and four pots and gone back to the standard 260mm rotors, with new boggo discs and Ferrodo pads. The car is now a joy to drive again, and with the new setup just about bedded in the feel and stopping power is brilliant. If only I could wind the clock back, whoever suggested I go 16" on the front and a big brake kit was clearly a nutter with more money than sense... Oh, hang on, that might have been me

Can I ask the cost of standard discs please?

£58.69 excluding VAT (for the pair) Pads were £36.80 excluding VAT...

Just goes to show, being old, doesn't make you wiser, you should have listened to the youngsters and gone for 324mm discs and Brembo 4 pots, I've now completed 6k trouble free miles on my set up

Might as well put the motor back to standard now before you over cook it on the brakes trying to stop

Never found a problem with the standard set up. It's not a heavy car. Having said that I have grooved and dimpled discs, but never felt the need for a larger set up.
Take Derek for example.

Having experienced Cerbera and V8S brakes, I thought I would go for RS Focus 324mm and T car calipers on the Griff rebuild, so am interested to here what the problem was pls.

I have the same size disks as you and they are excellent for mixed track day and road use.
Chilli had issues with huge vibration from his brakes, despite having the disks skimmed, which made brisk progress a serious worry.
Well done Chilli - glad you are happy again with your brakes. That car is begging to be driven.

283mm Cosworth discs and 'T'car AP callipers have always worked well for me.

I have these discs as well as the 888 calipers. Stops good!

293 Hispec discs with the six pot calipers and they work well
