Wiper Motor

Just taken it all apart, got my new board & brushes in ( to SilverbackMike's thread) but I notice that these surfaces need to be cleaned up (red arrows) for best interaction with the magnets.......



Can someone confirm.

They dont touch or brush those magnets they are just in close proximity for the field to do its thing the corrosion wont make any difference if you want you can clean it off and re-lacquer/paint if it makes you feel better though

Where do i get the kit to fix mine ? Its an early one sitting in the engine bay .

Correct sir. Got it back together & it's a little better but clearly needs to be renewed.
Could this motor be the same spec?

Yes, I have built one of these when a traders customer bought one (it came with no instructions and the burnt out motor had melted the plastic gear, leading to a total failure), this is the magnet/housing and armature ONLY and MORE money than a fully rebuilt unit (which my units have both the magnets/housing and armature replaced new anyway!!). IMHO not DIY...it does not include any part associated with the gearbox/park switch/gear/gear bearings/con road/wiper rack/wiper rack guide/ferrule.

Ive just ordered the upgraded motor from tvr parts, tired of the wipers stopping midway! Hope it works
