Jump Leads...

Am I likely to turn the engine of my Chim over off a jump from a little Polo?? What do you think? Any chance?

My wife used to have a 1.4 Polo, and yes I've jumped the 500 Chim off from it. Just make sure its running and revving over 2000 so you're drawing power from the alternator not the battery!

Am I alright using a 12v battery charger on the Chims battery? Having a look in the bible now...

Yes its 12v.

Let it sit with the jump leads connected for a few minutes to put some charge into the Chim battery before you try to start it, you should always do this when jump starting but its particularly important when jumping a large engine from a smaller one.

Humm never thought of that, in 35 years of jumping cars! So you connect up the jump leads across the two batteries and wait while some of the juice goes into the flat one? Rich...
