Battery in the Boot?

I have had the Chim for a few months now There is only one small fly in the ointment, my wife has quite long legs so has difficulty sitting in the passenger seat for any length of time. The easy solution would be to let her drive but that isnt really an option - I am enjoying it too much myself.

I have heard that some Chims had the battery located in the boot. Is this true? Is it possible to relocate the battery from the footwell to the boot to gain some passenger legroom and save me from further nagging
Finally does anyone know a company who can do the work or perhaps where I can find the mod parts to do it myself (I know which end of a spanner to use).

The battery is the biggest bulk in that place. There is also the relay & fuse gubbins. I suppose this could be tucked away. If the battery were in the boot, might it make lid stowage difficult?

That's an interesting idea you've hit upon there.... Must admit, I was surprised at the lack of legroom in passenger side. Considering you can only take one person, they should at least be comfortable, it is rather short. Guess you'd have to put the lid in the back first and see if there is space anywhere for the battery.
