Door Button.

Passenger side door button decided to start mucking about yesterday.

The door could be opened using the interior control knob but the exterior button would not depress.

I lifted the access panel inside and was confronted by a series of levers, gadgets, cogs, wires and widgets that would have made Heath Robinson proud.

By wiggling, twisting and pulling things I could see what it all should do but couldn't quite work out why it wasn't doing it.

After about 15 minutes the WD40 must have soaked in (first thing I did was spray everything) because it started working again.

Job done! Feeling pretty smug even though I have absolutely no idea how I did it.

Andy (last owner) advised me to spray WD40 behind the mirror glass every year to keep the buttons fresh. As your buttons face upwards, I guess this is even more important to keep out the damp!

I was thinking of drilling holes all the way through the buttons, lock mechanism and body to let the water drain away more easily
