Speedo packed up

I put the car away a week ago and the speedo was fine took car out last night to find it don't work is there a fuse for the speedo ?

I don't believe there is a fuse specifically for the speedo, it is likely fed from the ignition/acc circuit and I would expect other things to not be working as well if it was a fuse.

Likely culprits are :-

The speedo transducer / wiring to it

Dodgy connection in the wiring to the speedo

The speedo itself (not uncommon for the mileometer to get stuck especially at a 999 into 1000 point)

Sometimes a little "persuasion" of the unit can unstick them, once the unit is in your hand it will be easier to tell if the needle is stuck or able to move freely.

Seems that the power down to speed sensor has gone ! There is a little black box what all the wires go to any ideas what it does ?

The black box converts the signal to something the speedo can understand, IIRC. Check for bad contacts.
I had the sensor simply fail just after I bought my car. So that it possible. About £90 for a new one IIRC.
I have also has the wire chewed through by mice, just where it passes down to the diff area. I had stables at home at that time and had a lot of mouse issues.
If you want to investigate the sensor wire, the centre console comes out - two screws by your knees, two under the little triangle between the seat backs.

The counsel is out and dash top off sensor appears to be pulsing
