Ruff runing after a full service

Had my car back yesterday after having a full service and it seem to be running a bit ruff not like it was before, Seems to be hunting at idle
Also im sure I now have a noisy tappet or a slight blow from a manifold.
Sounds like a tappet but I know there known for the manifold gaskets to tick when blowing.
The only thing I did different since was fill it full of super unleaded, I,d filled it with normal last time I filled up.

What, exactly, did they do to the car on this service? Was it a known TVR specialist? did they renew any components? adjust anything? what engine oil did they use? Did you get a checklist with all the service jobs ticked off?
I'd give it a good ragging tomorrow and if still not happy after that take it back to them on Monday...

Its was done at a TVR specialist I don't want to say who they are yet till I speak to them first.
It was a 12k service all fluids engine box diff brake and clutch fluid and power steering oil.
Plugs petrol filter and full spanner check.
Cant remember what weight oil they used now and it doesn't say on the bill (I think 5/30) but can remember he said they don't use what tvr recommended as it went like piss once warm.

Checked all the plugs and they seem ok. Its defiantly tappet noise, Really a bit pissed off at the moment as I could have done the service myself and save a few 100 quid but thought it best to keep up the tvr service history. 
A service won't have caused this, possibly thicker oil was hiding a problem before it was changed. shake n bake said:

The OP may or may not have had one, but 'some' engine flushes have been known to cause problems. Many vehicle manufacturers have issued technical bulletins against them. When I went for my MoT the other day, the posters pushing these methods were rife. Erm, no thanks.bababoom said:

I have thought maybe it had thicker oil in it before but it sound fine the day I left the garage.

In theorie the Shell must be better.
Would the tappet also have some effect on the car having erratic idle?
Its not doing it all the time just a couple of times yesterday.
Spoke to the garage to day they just said that's a bit odd.
Asked to take it back down to them witch is as I expected but its a right pain in the ass as its a 120 mile round trip with 2 cars if I have to leave it there and time off work.
Then the same again to collect it.

On Shell a bit more ruff idle than on the BP fuel.Its not doing it all the time just a couple of times yesterday.

All ignition items are original Lucas? Rotor, dizzy cap? Lead set magnecors? Sparkplugs what kind?

This happened to me twice when I had my chims, both times it was the big black thing that you screw in the big ally box on the top of the engine buy the windscreen (sorry brain has shut down as I am in bed full of man flu)
