Hey guys, I've got a faulty relay, keeps clicking on off and gets worse when driving, i think from vibrations. Took the dash top off and when I press it it engages. I can't find the bible in the shed, does anyone know what it's for? I've took it out and the car runs fine so I was thinking maybe washer delay? But the washers also work ok with it removed?

I think you have to specify where you took the relay from

oh yeah that would help, it was from the relay board under the dash, i'll try to find a picture I took before I'm sure i have one. It was in the middle of the board, next to two red relays if that helps at all

The Ford application is, according to the text, a heated rear window.

so I've found this text which would lead me to believe it's either for heated mirrors or seats, I have neither of which so maybe i can just leave it unplugged?

On the aux relay board there are 6 sockets, not sure if these are standardized so well??
2 on one side should have a pair of single make/break relays which are the L & R hazard relays (there are gr & gw wires to them). In the middle is normally the Ford heated mirror timer (it has ur & wp wires) on the other end is the flasher unit (its got n, b wires and a gn which links it to the hazard relays). The other 2 sockets may be used for heated seats, ac... AFIK know these also only use std single make/break relays.

That black relay is you hazard and indicator relay (both functions) they are not separate nono certainly don't have stock make or break relays on an ind circuit anyway wink all ind functions go via the hazard switch i.e no hazard switch fitted or corroded contacts no indicators frown

I was about to tell you pretty much the same thing.... Its the early heated mirror timer.
