Which up grade first

Hi everyone. After having my chim for over 8 months now with no problems I'm starting to get the upgrade bug. I think I can safely say I'll start with nitrons first. But what about the brakes I can see some light hairline cracks starting to appear on one rear disc and if I'm in for new discs what would a sensible (price wise)upgrade be. Also of course, the exhaust what's a good sports exhaust, how much, and is it worth paying the extra for a sports exhaust or just the mod. I have searched the forums for these answers but not much luck at the moment especially on the brake upgrade. I will call my dealer soon to discuss these matters but just wanted to know a little of what I was on about, to start with. Thanks happy motoring.

I would recommend driver training, suspension overhaul and setup, more training, brake upgrade only if you suffer from overheating, more training.

You should definitely consider having the exhaust mod done. While there's no increase in power, it changes the whole character of the car and (IMHO) makes the car sound like the snarling beast it should...

I had mine done by Austec last month, and now when I get in the car, my grin's even wider than normal!

Next on my list are ACT carbon fibre throttle trumpets, ACT carbon fibre plenum, pre-cats out and ACT intake tube (just got to find someone to buy my kidneys to provide the finance).

if you go for stronger brakes -- then stiffer suspension is a good idea. The exixting springs etc are OK with brake force as standard, but better brakes gets greter forces on the suspension quicker and so more prone to diving.

It happened to me and was a big surprise. jellison has done a good brake upgrade IIRC (I did mine through TVR with the new wheels and will take ages now)

'Stronger' brakes shouldn't produce any higher loads on the suspension, unless there was something wrong with the originals. Both should be able to lock all four wheels in the dry. The main point of the brake upgrade is to prevent the brakes from fading after sustained use.
