Simple question as per the title - generally dry use (unless I'm caught in a shower) and no track days.

So what would you choose? Prices appear very similar.....

Thanks!

I am not able to make an informed comparison but just want to say that if you choose Toyos my experience was that I needed to wait 2 months to get them delivered. At the time I purchased late last year no dealers carried stock and all were on long back order. Just mentioning this in case you need to buy in a hurry.

I have no experience of the Uniroyals but have had Toyo Proxies on the Griff for 3/4 years and have been very pleased with them. You may be able to find a tyre review which might help.

Thanks for the heads up - been looking mainly on the AA Tyres website who would fit them at home and there don't appear to be any stock issues at present.....

Thanks for the links.
Have just been quoted £91.20 per tyre fitted from the AA for Toyos and £84.40 for Rainsport 3's which I didn't think was bad.

Just read a few good things about the Rainsport 3's recently so thought I'd ask opinion although I think still swaying towards Toyos.

FWIW, I always thought that the T1Rs were overrated and were not a very grippy tyre, (actually a bit of a budget tyre IMHO).

I have had a set of Rainsport 2s prior to them bringing out the 3s and was impressed with their performance.

Just has two Rainsport 3s fitted at the rear. Looks like it might rain here...

Rainsport 3 on Tamy and Suni. Also used on trackdays - not a substitute for proper trackday tyres though.

I've not tried the RS3 but I have read they have quite soft sidewalls and the wear rate is quite quick.

I've been put off Toyos since having a set of T1-S that rolled over onto the sidewalls at any speed and had binary grip - all or nothing, no inbetween, which made steering/stopping in the wet 'interesting'...

Went for RS3's all round......so far very pleased with them. The ride is much more comfortable and I like the thought of the wet weather grip if I need it.....don't think you will be disappointed.
Also I like the look of the tread pattern !

I've had mine on for a couple of months now, more and more impressed how I can just drive it and the grip takes care of itself.

Shark skin tech,,, what's that all about smile

I don't get wheel spin at all unless I'm being very stupid. Ride is the best I've had and the weird spongy side walls can take the weight of the car if you chuck it in which seems at odds but they easily handle the weight of the car laterally.
Better than new shocks for controlling bump and rebound over small road imperfections and I'm not getting anywhere near as much shake over violent bumps. I don't feel like going over 60 mph on a country lane is a recipe for disaster,,,, not that I do wink

Brill tyre cos there as grippy for road in the dry yet also grippy in the wet. Proper grippy in the wet.
