Just had a bit of a shock checking my outriggers.

MOT time soon and I have a bit of time, so I thought I would get it up on the ramp and have a poke about.
Underseal at the ready and with a massive feeling of dread I scratch off the 6 or 20 layers of old crappy underseal and paint.
Expecting to find the paint holding the rust together, hoping to find just a bit of surface rust.
Hang on.... Thats a bit shiny?

I have stainless steel outriggers!!!!
The car was a bit of a shed when I got it, roof was dreadful the carpets we dead, it need a respray. I'm guessing the guy or girl that had it before me spent all their money on the outriggers. Some lovely welds makes me think it was done buy a place that builds stanchions and handrails for boats?
Anyway I'm a happy bunny. Bring on the salt spreaders!

I always thought there was a problem welding stainless to mild steel. Not too sure what exactly. Obviously there isn't as thats 2 people who have done it. Why are we all not going this way surely its a no brainer.
