drivers side window intermittent

the drivers side window goes up goes down and then sometimes stops up or down or somewhere in between
the windows are slow is it an earth broken wire or is the motor buggered ????
anybody got a wireing diagram for a 94 chimaera

i also want a new hood and creme leather seats where do I go ????

ELECTRIC WINDOWS

Slow windows are a typical problem on Chimaeras. Other than fitting new motors, you may want to contact David at Mod-Wise (www.mod-wise.com) for electrical upgrades. I fitted a starter motor kit and it seemed to have a positive effect on all my electrics, including faster windows.

If the window is just grinding to a halt, I'd say you probably have a mechanical problem - sticky seals or runners, that sort of thing. If it moves in fits and starts it's more likely to be an electrical fault. Worth checking the state of the wiring between the body and the door as wires can get chopped here.

You can also try getting rid of the two plug style connectors in the door loom to the motor and just solder the wiring direct onto the motor terminals .. works a treat and no more corroded connector problems

peter is dead right about the channel thing tho .. check the guide felts and alignment which can make things nice and smooth again

I'd get some silicon grease or spray - Halfords or similar place will stock it. Be careful not to get it on the steering wheel or anything you need to be grippy though!

I had a similar problem with my passenger side window, turned out the motor had come off its mounts. Offord's took it all apart and re-fitted it for me and works absolutely fine now.
