300 @6,000 - erm, that's what my 4.3 with a similar 'spec sheet' makes - on ACT twin throttle plenum induction & exhaust manifolds w/decat, mapped ignition, non-standard injectors and and and...
Methinks the torque figure belonging to that hp and rpm may be a tad 'ambitious' for a four litre...
But then again, TVR said it'd make 275 @ 5,500 so what's a man to do when he wants to sell an 'upgraded' version

Significant casting damage - from pre-ignition or engine destruction? There is also a hole in the intake port where it looks like somebody has been too adventurous with their porting.

When I called 'Dave' for a refund I got told that these heads were for a rebuild?! When I told him that, although I can aluminium weld, I would definitely consider these to be beyond repair - he put the phone down on me! No Paypal payment means no refund through Ebay.

Many thanks for sharing your experience though as it saves others from buying from this shyster, good tip about the PayPal protection too.

Strangely I gave him negative feedback which appeared on his user ID for a few hours and then disappeared for no apparent reason - how does that work?! The eBay system does not allow you to file for a refund if you do not pay via Paypal. The only remaining course of action is to phone Ebay directly but slightly concerned that it could mean hours of my life for no gain. Hence the 'heads up' on here! I think you can complain to E-bay of you believe that the neg feedback was in any way "unfair"
He may have had your negative feedback removed as E-bay will have no record for the payment through Pay-Pal, hence he could have claimed you never collected/paid for the items and that he can therefore prove to E-bay that your feedback was in some way malicious.

Anyone who knows me would confirm I'd be the last to defend or condone rip-offs but a couple of points need making for some balance IMO
First, it's simply incorrect to say there's no redress if Ebay won't act; the County Court is there and entirely able to deal with small claims arising from cases like this. Would depend on what representations were made and relied on obviously, and the evidence that exists of these but well worth a punt if you think something wrong has occurred.
Secondly, the listing linked to makes it clear the items are 'as is' and need to be refurbed - whether that is actually realistically possible or not is a moot point clearly, but I'm not sure I would have ever have expected to pick up issue free heads of that claimed spec for the money that apparently changed hands... it's a cliché but caveat emptor does apply and the onus is on the buyer to ensure they know what they are buying when contemplating old parts, no?

But putting the phone down on someone doesn't speak well though. It would be poor if seller knew it was bad (he's built many engines right?) but knew they could off load it.
