Blended base

I have a spare base and going to have a go at doing one
It's at a foundry at the moment getting the holes filled in

Is there a preferred radius to the hole or is it a nice equal
Shaped edge of any radius ?

Have I read it right ?
The blend starts at the 45 mm manifold and tapers out to a larger flared opening at the plenum side in a funnel shaped hole?
