Where's the best / cheapest place to get hold of a copy? Amazon have it £19.60, there's also one on eBay from a Plymouth seller - if only I knew who it was, I could just pop round and grab it! - but the bidding is getting quite high.

Amazon state a 98 printing date making it the first edition (2nd edition is almost twice this size and far more comprehensive.) Also they state a 4-6 week estimate for delivery, mine arrived from TVRCC in 2 days. I doubt Amazon will actually be able to supply this book to you as its actually only available via the club or TVRbooks.co.uk.
Your choice but for the sake of £14 quid I think I'd stick with the safer more up to date option.

You could buy the Plymouth edition off ebay but note that it is the first edition.

The 2nd edition is twice the size and is the version you really want.

If you can't aford £33 for the ONLY Chim handbook on the market, then sell the Chim!

Thanks Big Al, very helpful. It's not really about affording 33 quid, it's about wondering why the big price difference. I can only apologise if I appear to be too much of a tightwad or just too downright poor to be a Chim owner. I will endeavour to do better in future.

Besides...... you know I'd only spend the savings on more stuff for the Chim anyway......

Think you'll find the new bible covers the later differences. Even though the old bible is comprehensive the new one will serve you forever.

Yes, makes sense, but my Chim's quite old, has the 2nd edition got rid of tips and methods that would specifically refer to earlier models or are they all still there with just new stuff added?

No, it covers all types comprehensively. I dont pick up my Chim till friday and I've read the whole book!

Didn't neccesarily understand it, but I'm reading whilst I can't drive.

It is basically twice the information on everything because over the years I managed to acquire and get more data on these cars so it is not a early vs late cars, it is more of here's another 5 years experience and knowledge with these cars.

Thanks, I got there in the end! I didn't even realise there were two editions so looks like I get the prize for clown of the week. Will be ordering one as soon as I can get the TVRCC website to let me. Technofear..............
