I see, the ecu I have is off my car. I'm presently changing ecu for a easier mappable system removing the need for the distributor,,, out of choice rather than because I have any real issues with either my car or my original ecu.
My 2000 car was fitted with a cat, ecu works fine,, I also have both resistors to use for either cat or de cat

Regards other damage,, it's hard to say, did water reach fuse board etc, hair dryer it all . Change relays etc.
Hopefully someone far more knowledgeable will be along help answer your questions.

The chip in my ecu was installed by Powers Performance two years ago, it's just a more refined map,
It can be checked to see if it's ok for your needs,
Maybe your ecu is a simple fix, I just thought,,, well I can't use mine anymore so if your in trouble it's an option.
