Lost half my clutch pedal action

Arggggh! Setting off for Italy on Thursday and I seem to have lost half of my clutch pedal. Clutch still works perfectly fine but the top half of the travel is just springy.

Is this likely to be a failing clutch fork or hydraulics? Easily sortable in 48 hours?

Seals in slave or master cylinder failing or low level in clutch master cylinder drawing air in.
Top up master and pump clutch for awhile,, it might pump up but is it likely to last the trip ?
Bleed system and check for leaks.

If you've no obvious fluid leaks, I'd be checking the return spring in the master cylinder; they fatigue and fracture giving just those symptoms. Good news is it's an easy fix from the footwell; bad news is the springs are not readily available as spares although they do crop up in the odd seal repair kit - do a search as there are a few threads (including on pros/cons of just changing the m/cyl)

The master cylinder seals have gone. It is currently residing at the fantastic XWorks who are sorting it at short notice! So lucky it happened now and not in a few days time!

If you cant remember the last time the slave cylinder was checked, tell them to do that aswell, maybe they can change the piston seal for assurance.

Mine started leaking the week after I had the master changed
