Calling Phased and/or SteveSPG - steering rack conversion

Been keeping a low profile but am I now nearly ready for front end rebuild! Have sourced all the parts for the Subaru rack conversion, together with painting the front chassis, upgrading to 887/888 brakes, new TVR droplinks, all new ball joints, precats out. I have the Astra electric pump suggested by Steve which is a bulky unit. I think Phased has got it fixed in the middle between the radiator and the Y piece - is this right? How was it fixed? The mounts attached to the unit are useless and I can only see a strapping back to the chassis as the way forward. Any help appreciated.

Back to business, don't be daunted, it's easier then you think with hindsight but a bit of a black art if you haven't done it.

Firstly, where are you based?

No doubt you have read the threads, the last one was very informative.

Pump, I use a 206 one mounted in the corner on the 5.5 but did use a Vectra one mounted in the centre where the expansion bottle was just in front of the cross brace.

You need to cut, reform and adapt the pump bracket and bolt it to the captive nuts on the cross brace.

I think I might need to find out a bit more about this too ... The one good thing about the French P.O.S. is its power steering and I've noticed that it has been so much kinder to my back!!!
