Fuel hose

Sorry to bring this up again but I've searched and can't find any of the old threads I read, I did have one saved somewhere but can't seem to find that one either. So I was going to buy some new hose to renew all rubber including return and carbon canister, and I had read that R9 is recommended because of ethanol in fuel. I have tried in local factors but they don't know what I'm talking about the only one that seems to come up on eBay is advanced fluid solutions, which seems a good price. And does anyone have any idea how much I would need?

Curiously I was on the Racetech website ordering a few bits this morning and saw fuel hose on their listings. They have the fuel feed and fuel feed return sizes so have a look under "Hoses and Fittings" and see if anything here looks good.

Best to call them to make sure it is what you want but they do know their stuff

If you google the full spec reference: SAEJ30R9 you'll find a lot more matches. BTW even better than R9 is teflon/PTFE lined - as I understand it this is what is used a lot in the USA as their fuel can contain a much bigger proportion of Ethanol - circa 15%.

I've only recently put SAE J30 R6 on mine. Am I going to blow up?

Ethanol perishes rubber relatively quickly and R9 spec is meant to be more resilient to this than R6. Add engine bay heat to ethanol doped fuel and your fron hoses at the bulkhead for fuel feed and return can deteriorate quite quickly. That said last year I installed some eBay sourced R9 hose at the back between tank and fuel pump and it is showing signs of cracking already. Maybe just a bad batch but I suppose the moral is to be sure of the quality of source of this stuff.
