5ltr short motor

After some opinions on the value of a reconditioned 5ltr short motor, all new bearings, rings and core plugs. I am having a new engine for the chim, forged pistons etc.
Which leaves me with my original short motor. What would you value it at.

Does your supplier do a better price with the old unit in exchange?

I did hear of a geezer in need of a plentiful supply of RV8 engines. I think his name was something like Desmond or Delbert, and he lives in Cumbria. Apparently he s running a project where he tests one a month to breaking point?

Got to worth more than £3-400. That seems to be the difference in outright purchase.

I was told mine was worth £1200-£1800 for a recon short 500 motor a few years back, unfortunately it mysteriously disappeared when the garage looking after it went tits up

In Cumbria you say. I wouldn't mind finding out who this is as I get through a few engines myself
