Drivers Door not popping open

Help needed please, drivers door has decided to stop working and not pop open from outside, passengers side working fine still, any suggestions or help on how to remove or look at button under mirror?

Can you hear the door unlock when you press the alarm fob?

can you open it from inside the car?

any noise from the solenoid when pushing the mirror button?

it's usually either a dodgy/corroded connection at the door sil switch, the mirror switch or the solenoid hidden in the void behind the door or the solenoid itself.

replacement solenoids on short supply from maplin as the product is now discontinued, only store stock left

Yeah I can hear it lock when arming the alarm and yes it works from the inside too, just no sound at all when pressing the button externally. Thanks for help :-)

sounds like a wire connection has come adrift from the door button door button itself has failed

Am i alone in thinking that the solenoid is only used to open the door from the outside, and that it opens from the inside mechanically, using a wire like the bonnet catch one, attached to the central knob?

In which case you cannot eliminate a failed solenoid.

I have a Chim, ok, but I think it is the same system as the Cerbera, and my only door failure to date has been a failed solenoid. Not had the button fail at all.
