Burning smell on startup, white residue on screen

Hey everyone, I need a bit of information.

I just took the chim out the garage and took it out for a drive. I got about 100m down the road then came back as there was a very noticable burning smell (but not antifreeze - I know what that smells like) and a thin film of white-ish residue had formed on the screen.

There appeared to be a small amount of smoke near the dipstick but much deeper down the engine bay. I don't think any oil dripped off the stick last time the oil was checked.

I'm guessing I might have an oil leak. Any thoughts?

Small animal or other foreign body sitting on some part of the engine maybe?

White residue ... hmm, you been out into the garage late at night?

You could have a PAS fluid leak that has dripped on to one of the manifolds or the exhaust. Check around the fluid bottle and the U bend thingy.

That's what I was going to say.

I had a few wispy bits of smoke coming from mine. think it was a small PAS leak.
